Why did you choose to coach?
“I had a coach in college who taught me that value does not always come from being the most talented player on the field. Sometimes it comes from being self-aware enough to know your limitations, humble enough to accept your role, and committed enough to do the job your team actually needs. That lesson has stayed with me as a coach. Not every player will be an obvious standout, but every player can become valuable to the team.”
Favorite memory coaching:
“I had a vision for how a player could help the team that did always feel aligned with his vision of the player he wanted to be. But to his credit, he kept working, listening, and competing, ultimately committing to doing what the team needed. Then, late in the season, everything clicked. From that moment on, something changed. He embraced his role, played with confidence, and became one of our most valuable players the rest of the season. This is one of the best parts of coaching: helping a player discover a role that brings out something special in himself and the team. Sometimes, development is not about forcing a player to fit your vision, but rather staying patient long enough for your vision and his vision to finally meet.”
Major accomplishments within the club:
“In our first year, we made it to the championship game of two tournaments. We played in the top division of both tournaments and competed until the final whistle, losing each game by only a goal. A tremendous accomplishment for a brand-new group, and I look forward to helping them get one step further to become champions.”
